Since the start of 2020, Kami AI has implemented a work-from-home policy in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. But as we close out a turbulent year and life is getting back to normal, we want to share what it’s like to work at our growing company!
Augmenting Humanity with AI
At Kami we know that things can be better, which is why the company was established with a simple goal—to use AI as a means for creating a better future. Today, we work towards this goal by continually redefining the cutting edge in the field of Natural Language Processing (NLP). Our proprietary platform empowers developers with tools to create automation projects across an array of functions and industries—everything from customer support to office administration and more. By facilitating widespread adoption of NLP in commercial and business applications, we envision a future in which commerce can be friction-less.
A New Work Culture with Sharing
We recognise that the world is changing. Major companies like Amazon, JPMorgan Chase, and Walmart are spending hundreds of millions of dollars retraining employees to work alongside deep tech applications. Thanks to new innovations and improvements in existing technologies, automation and augmentation projects are becoming easier than ever. So how do we prepare our staff for a future of work that we are helping to build?
We know that nothing could be as successful without our happy employees, which is why we start by making work-life balance a priority in our company culture and among our team members.
Now that things are getting back to normal and in-office work is resuming, we encourage our staff to organise gatherings and participate in lunchtime activities to socialise, eat, play, and relax together. Recently we have begun peer-led “sharing sessions” in which team members can teach their skills to others, such as sketching and photography. Not interested in sharing? No problem—you’re welcome to simply watch and learn! Not only is this a great way to connect with team members, but it also reflects another important pillar of our company culture: continuous self-growth and learning.
Lifelong Learning is the New Norm
Continuous learning is a big part of how we prepare our staff for the future of work, and we are always looking for better ways to promote the sharing of knowledge and thought leadership within our teams. We actively strive towards making Kami an environment in which the expression of new ideas are encouraged and staff are given the freedom to explore new concepts and career paths for themselves.
We’re Looking for Leaders
But such freedoms and flexibility don’t come for free; members are expected to produce results, and self-governance and discipline are fundamental character requirements at Kami. We know that things can be better, but no one ever made a difference half-assing it. We need leaders who are willing to step up—if you think you have what it takes, come join us!
